When tomorrow comes, you'll wish you had today.

How long has it been since the last time I posted? Yes, it would be an understatement to say I've been gone a long time because the time I spent unable to get anything constructive done on the internet felt like a measure of eternity within the span of somewhere around two weeks-ish. Alright, some of you might have seen me online around that period. I'll explain. Now, how did I manage to update my accounts and talk to people from time to time? I actually subsisted on stray wifi signals from the guy who lives right behind us. Weak signals, no signals, adapter not compatible and all that sort of crap kept getting in the way of whatever I tried to do but still it got me online long enough to check stuff for updates and whatnot. Yeah, I was the Bear Grylls of internet usage for a while. It was sort of thrilling but it was also incredibly taxing. With my room facing Ladislawa, the odds were fairly good for the way things were at the time. What actually happened? It wasn't PLDT and it wasn't because we didn't pay the bills. It's the rats! Yes, the goddamn rats! They chewed through the wiring and got me into that whole mess. Things are much better as of the moment so I guess everything turned out fine after hatching the plot to blow up PLDT a week or so ago. Now, on to regular blogging...

It's been a while since the second semester and well, as summer came and went things seemed to take their natural course and I was left in the back seat to watch everything unfold. Things became beautiful, I started seeing things differently and all of the sudden the whole world seems like a huge window of opportunities to come back to life and start living the life I actually want to live. I am enveloped by an odd but beautiful sense of serenity towards myself and the world around me. It makes me wonder how I got here but for whatever it's worth, I'm happier like this. The cynic in me would like to believe that something that feels as good as this would have a catch but what's left of my untainted sense of hope would beg to differ. Maybe this is what growing up feels like. Oh well.

First semester rolled in rather smoothly. I love my classmates to death and the teachers are people I definitely want to learn from and work with. My schedules are perfectly fine with me aside from the fact I missed my EDP311 class thrice given the 7:40am TTh slot but otherwise things are working out great. Just for the sake of added length I'll post my schedules here too:

Apart from all of that, what else is new? Well, I might as well post a few pictures of what I have going on in my house and my newly acquired bedroom. I will say a little something about each picture as well.

THE OFFICE AREA/SUPPLIES
I have an office area now! Spent a lot on supplies; stuff like paper, new pens and a purse thing where I put my school supplies for easy access when I'm out. I also have a filing rack for incoming/outgoing papers or bills to pay and whatnot.

THAT GIRL I'VE BEEN TALKING TO
Truth be told, this isn't without its ups and downs. Whatever it is between me and her though, it's definitely something I'd be eternally grateful for. I guess I have her to thank for making me believe that there is still goodness and beauty in this world and it's even closer than I used to think it was. It's one of those things that goes without saying now. I owe this part of my life to her and no matter where this leads, I won't regret any part of it.

THE HAMBURGER PHONE
It's a no-brainer. I loved Juno and I got this for the sheer novelty of it. Haven't seen The Tracey Fragments though, but that's a whole different matter entirely. I got this phone cheap and thanks to me getting my ass over to PLDT and threatening to set myself on fire over at customer service, I could finally use it now that the phone lines are rewired. No thanks to the fucking rats in my ceiling for chewing through the wires.

MY NEW SPEAKERS
I have absolutely no love for any furry woodland creatures who get a kick out of munching through meters and meters of wiring among others. I had a pair of Altec Lansings that I used to use with the legendary 'old PC'. The line leading up to the adapter was gnawed to shreds by my wonderful little dog, Saetia. I managed to get them working again after a little splicing, albeit a bit messed up due to the horrible job I did. Unfortunately, they got lost under stacks of boxes when I moved to the new house. No speakers, none of the 35,000 mp3s on my old pc. Nothing. After months of crappy laptop speakers and horribly shaped earphones, I finally decided to break the bank and get myself a new pair of speakers. They were out of Altec Lansings so I got Creative speakers instead. It has a subwoofer, sounds a little bassy but it sounds solid and that's all I need really.

MY SMALL RECORD/ZINE COLLECTION
Every self-proclaimed music geek has his or her own fair share of records and music-related literature. Whereas I was born into a generation where the majority of the music we patronize is acquired via downloads/burned cds, I still make it a point to give due credit to where it all started. Tapes, 7"s, 12"s, compact discs, 'zines and whatnot. Most of my records are late 90s/early 00s emo and post-hardcore. I also have a little indie pop and am looking forward to adding more to that part of my collection. This were it all starts.

THE NEW CELLPHONE
Do any of you guys remember a time when I had a girlfriend and two slide phones, namely the pink one and the red one? Well, sometime after my ex and I broke up the red phone followed. It sort of died with the relationship, oddly enough. Soon after, the infamous pink cellphone died out as well after a service life that went as far back as when I was in third year high school. 2009 is a year for new things and beautiful beginnings and my mother just had to top herself by giving me an even gayer unit than the pink cellphone. Behold, my 6500c. It's sleek, it's slim and it has no hoops whatsoever for a sling/strap or whatnot. I can't keep the thing in my pocket for fear of slipping out so I carry it in either my bag or my shirt pocket whenever I go out. The fact that it has this weird USB charger slot on top makes it annoyingly inconvenient to have around when you don't have your charger with you or a socket to plug your model-specific charger in.

THE RETURN OF THE INTERWEBS
Oh sweet, sweet internet! How I missed you so! Seriously, you don't have to be a rocket scientist to figure out how I feel about having the internet back. The first part of the blog says enough already. I love you, internet!

BOOKS! BOOKS! BOOKS!
What's a new school year without books? I just hauled all of my books over to my room and stuffed the shelves with them. They look so cute together and I can't wait to get back to books I have yet to read and books I have yet to finish. Don't mind the copy of Dianetics I have up there. My best friend gave it to me for funsies. So many books, so little time!

Odds and ends:

  • Ma'am O is afraid of heights and furry woodland creatures.
  • I have a girl classmated named Dexter. I thought the cross-gender names were my thing, turns out there are other players in the game.
  • Sir Batican either has bad luck or can't drive for shit. He's too calm, too but hey he's a good dresser so it can't be all bad. He's pretty awesome.
  • Ma'am Jeng is jollier than I expected.
  • Strawberry Switchblade- Since Yesterday
  • Sarah Bagis is nicer to talk to than I thought she was.
  • I FUCKING LOVE STATISTICS!
  • The Khash diet is not economically viable.
  • SERENITY.
  • Why does it make me want to crap my pants knowing I have a fucking catholic priest for a classmate!?
  • Nics, I yearn for you. I'm fucking serious.
  • Ate Weng is my mother's analog. She has the same length hair, the same name, roughly the same age, and they were both born in July.
  • Caitlyn Bailey is back and working on new material.
  • Capulette reunion record sometime this year.
  • I need to wake up around 6 in the morning every TTh.

That's basically everything. Welcome back, Maria. Welcome to the internet. Welcome home.
